Our caring team of licensed and credentialed professionals uses an Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment (IDDT) approach, an evidence-based practice that combines substance use services with mental health services.

The length of a residential treatment program varies from person to person. At Anuvia, our inpatient treatment programs range from one to 45 days.
Although all substance use treatment offers certain benefits to those struggling with drugs or alcohol, residential treatment has benefits that are hard to duplicate in the outpatient context.
This immersive experience can help patients analyze the reasons behind their substance use and develop plans to avoid relapse.
There are a few important steps to take when preparing to enter residential treatment. This will allow you to fully focus on your recovery and remain present throughout the experience.
Before you begin these preparations, be sure you have the specifics—most importantly, a treatment entry date and the length of your treatment program. Being able to provide firm dates will make coverage arrangements much more streamlined.
Talk to your employer
Because of its intensity and the number of programs offered, residential treatment will generally require patients to take a leave of absence from their jobs.
If your employer is covered by the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), your job should be protected for up to 12 weeks during a one-year period. This means that if you’ve received a residential treatment referral from a qualified provider, you can’t be disciplined or fired for taking up to 12 weeks off work to seek this treatment.
Though FMLA leave is unpaid, you may also be able to use sick or vacation time to avoid any interruption in your paycheck.
Make childcare arrangements
If you have young children or care for other family members, you may also need to make arrangements for them for the time you’ll be in treatment.
Make pet care arrangements
If you have pets, you will also need to arrange for their care in your absence. This can include boarding at a facility, hiring a pet sitter, or having the pet stay with a friend or family member.
Plan your transportation
You’ll want to plan how to get to and from the treatment center—whether having a family member drop you off, taking public transportation or a rideshare, or even driving yourself. Anuvia provides city bus passes for individuals who do not have transportation.
