We provide a residential facility open around the clock, every day of the year for individuals dealing with a substance abuse disorder.
While many who struggle with substance use can receive adequate treatment through outpatient programs, those dealing with more severe or long-term substance use may need more intensive care.
This care comes in the form of residential treatment (also known as inpatient treatment). At Anuvia, we provide a residential facility open 24/7/365 to support individuals who are dealing with a substance use disorder.

Jump Ahead
Residential treatment offers patients a way to completely focus on their recovery journey without the distractions and stresses of daily life. Each day is carefully scheduled, and patients have access to group and individual counseling, educational sessions, and relapse prevention programming.
This intensive treatment can help replace bad habits with healthy ones, giving you the tools you need to continue your recovery journey on your own.
Trying to curb a substance use issue on your own can feel like an insurmountable challenge, especially if you’ve been relying on drugs or alcohol to numb your emotions for years.
Residential treatment can benefit those who are dealing with severe substance use, long-term substance use, or individuals whose current living and social environment make treatment and recovery very difficult.
By providing a holistic array of services in a secure, supportive environment, residential treatment can give patients the tools they need to resume a sober lifestyle. Getting professional substance use treatment and ensuring this treatment is tailored to your unique needs can be the key to long-term success in recovery.
You do not need to pass a drug screen to be admitted to Anuvia’s residential treatment program. We understand that many people entering treatment are actively using substances, and that is exactly what we are here to help with. Our goal is to meet you where you are and support your recovery from day one.
Anuvia’s residential facility offers around-the-clock care, seven days a week. We specialize in treating adults with substance use disorders.
Our caring team of licensed and credentialed professionals uses an Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment (IDDT) approach, an evidence-based practice that combines substance use services with mental health services.
Many individuals entering residential treatment are managing co-occurring mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, trauma, or bipolar disorder alongside their substance use. Our IDDT approach ensures that both are addressed simultaneously for better long-term outcomes.
Some of the services we offer include:
The length of a residential treatment program varies from person to person. At Anuvia, our inpatient treatment programs range from one to 45 days.
Although all substance use treatment offers certain benefits to those struggling with drugs or alcohol, residential treatment has benefits that are hard to duplicate in the outpatient context.
This immersive experience can help patients analyze the reasons behind their substance use and develop plans to avoid relapse.
There are a few important steps to take when preparing to enter residential treatment. This will allow you to fully focus on your recovery and remain present throughout the experience.
Before you begin these preparations, be sure you have the specifics—most importantly, a treatment entry date and the length of your treatment program. Being able to provide firm dates will make coverage arrangements much more streamlined.
Talk to your employer
Because of its intensity and the number of programs offered, residential treatment will generally require patients to take a leave of absence from their jobs.
If your employer is covered by the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), your job should be protected for up to 12 weeks during a one-year period. This means that if you’ve received a residential treatment referral from a qualified provider, you can’t be disciplined or fired for taking up to 12 weeks off work to seek this treatment.
Though FMLA leave is unpaid, you may also be able to use sick or vacation time to avoid any interruption in your paycheck.
Make childcare arrangements
If you have young children or care for other family members, you may also need to make arrangements for them for the time you’ll be in treatment.
Make pet care arrangements
If you have pets, you will also need to arrange for their care in your absence. This can include boarding at a facility, hiring a pet sitter, or having the pet stay with a friend or family member.
Plan your transportation
You’ll want to plan how to get to and from the treatment center—whether having a family member drop you off, taking public transportation or a rideshare, or even driving yourself. Anuvia provides city bus passes for individuals who do not have transportation.
To ensure we can provide safe, effective care for all residents, Anuvia’s residential program requires that individuals meet the following physical health parameters at the time of admission:
If you have questions about whether you or a loved one meets these requirements, please contact our intake team before arriving. We want to help find the right level of care for your situation.
The next step of preparing to enter residential treatment will require you to review items you should bring—as well as the items you should leave at home.
Items to Bring to Treatment
Items Not to Bring to Treatment
If you do bring something on the unapproved list, Anuvia will hold these items for you until you’re discharged.
Taking the first step toward residential treatment can feel overwhelming, but we’re here to make the process as straightforward as possible.
