Recognizing the Signs

Be on the lookout for some of these common warning signs of substance use or mental health concerns:

  • Increased tolerance or needing more of a substance to achieve the same effect
  • Withdrawal symptoms when not using
  • Neglecting responsibilities at work, home, or in relationships
  • Continued use despite negative consequences
  • Loss of interest in activities once enjoyed
  • Changes in sleep patterns or appetite
  • Persistent feelings of sadness, anxiety, or hopelessness
  • Difficulty concentrating or making decisions
  • Isolation from friends and family
  • Using substances to cope with stress, trauma, or emotional pain

If you’ve noticed any of these signs in yourself or a loved one, it may be a good time to schedule an assessment. Our counselors are available to help, just give Anuvia a call at (704) 376-7447.

Why Adult Treatment Matters

Adults facing substance use disorders often juggle multiple responsibilities and may have been struggling for years. Many turn to substances as a way to cope with stress, trauma, chronic pain, or co-occurring mental health conditions like depression, anxiety, or PTSD.

The good news? Recovery is possible at any age. Evidence-based treatment can help you:

  • Understand the root causes of your substance use
  • Develop healthy coping strategies
  • Rebuild relationships with loved ones
  • Regain stability in your work and personal life
  • Address co-occurring mental health conditions

Outpatient Treatment Options

Short-Term Outpatient Treatment

Our short-term rehab outpatient programs are intended for those with mild to moderate substance use issues. These programs meet twice weekly and allow you to continue with work and family responsibilities while receiving support. Both morning and evening hours are available to fit your schedule.

Sessions include:

  • Psycho-education about substance use and recovery
  • Group therapy using evidence-based models
  • Individual counseling as needed
  • Introduction to 12-Step and other recovery support groups

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Anuvia’s Intensive Outpatient Treatment Programs (IOP) provide more structured support for adults dealing with more severe substance use disorders who don’t require inpatient rehab care. These programs meet three times per week for 12 weeks, with both morning and evening sessions offered.

The IOP includes:

  • Primary Care phase meeting 3 times weekly for 12 weeks
  • Optional Continuing Care phase meeting once weekly for 4-6 weeks
  • Three-hour sessions including psycho-education and group therapy using the Matrix model
  • Personalized relapse prevention planning
  • Connection to 12-Step meetings and ongoing recovery support
  • Multi-family group sessions
  • Individual counseling and crisis intervention
  • Case management to address housing, employment, and other needs

Dual Diagnosis Treatment

For adults managing both substance use and mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, or PTSD, we offer integrated treatment using the Integrated Dual Disorders Treatment (IDDT) model.

This program provides:

  • Education specific to co-occurring disorders
  • Group therapy focused on managing both conditions
  • Case management and community support
  • Weekly family program with education and multi-family group therapy
  • Flexible scheduling with both daytime and evening options
  • Initial treatment of minimum 12 weeks, five days per week, decreasing as you meet personal goals
